The site is simply tremendous! My father was an usher at the Civic Arena for many years and loves the Penguins. He doesn't own a computer and knows little about the internet, but everytime he comes over to see his grandchildren he asks us to 'bring up that Pittsburgh Hockey thing on the computer.' What a neat discovery.

PittsburghHockey.net developed from an earlier site: Penguinjersey.com.

That site was devoted primarily to Penguins hockey jerseys and grew into a more comprehensive site to include all the other hockey teams from the Steel City.

About PittsburghHockey.net
The history of Pittsburgh Hockey
There are many websites dedicated to Pittsburgh Penguins hockey. There are a few sites that mention the Pittsburgh Hornets, the Pittsburgh Pirates, Yellow Jackets (City Crest at right was worn on the shoulders of the Yellow Jackets' jerseys) and other Western Pennsylvania hockey teams. This site was developed to detail all the history of area clubs. Think of us as one big bookmark of cool Pittsburgh hockey memories.

This site was developed because we had hundreds of bookmarks related to Pittsburgh hockey and we wanted to bring everything together under one umbrella (or retractable dome!) and make it accessable, free and interesting to view.

We are NOT about making money; we are about preserving Pittsburgh hockey heritage. Inside you will find an assortment of artifacts and information from many contributors. We hope that one day this collection could be the inspiration for an actual museum inside the city's newest hockey arena.

Inside this site you will find historical timelines, jersey histories, arena descriptions, all-time uniform numbers, rosters and some statistical snippets that are complemented with photographs of actual Pittsburgh hockey artifacts.

We have had the help of 92 people to gather information, donate photographs of their items and to share their stories of hockey lore.

We have a small portion of our information posted - with plans to add many more features that we know you'll like. We have tons of old Pittsburgh hockey-related photographs to share with you whenever we get the permission from the photographers / copyright holders.

Think of this as a community and contribute your thoughts and information. We strive for accuracy and we want you to tell us if you see something that is questionable.
