The Hornets will be a tough act to follow. We're replacing a championship winning team with a group of guys that might not be playing in the NHL if it weren't for expansion.

1961-64 Pittsburgh Hornets Jersey
After five years of inactivity, The Hornets were sporting the red and white wool jerseys again - this time at the Civic Arena.

The jerseys featured tie-down collars. A full circular crest trimmed in gold replaced the familiar hornet in a hard hat on the sleeves. The full 10-inch front uniform number was reduced to a 4-inch number on the left side of the chest. The Captain's "C" or alternate captain's "A's" were worn on the right side of the chest.

The home jerseys were red with white trim and featured the stars on the sleeves again.

The road jerseys were initially blue in color with gold trim - a design that didn't last long in that first season back.

Eventually the team wore white jerseys with red trim on the road.
