SEASON HIGHLIGHTS
|
|
• The IAHL increases the season to 54 games.
• Larry Aurie became the second coach in team history. Aurie also plays for the team in 39 games.
• Don Deacon not only topped the Hornets in scoring, he led the IAHL in assists and points. (41 & 65).
• For the first time in team history, two players scored 20 goals: Don Deacon (24) & Sid Abel (21).
• Leighton "Hap" Emms set an IAHL record for most penalty shots scored in one season (3).
Don Deacon scored goals in five consecutive games, an AHL season-high, 9G/6A
February 8, 1939 - Don Deacon and Dede Klein each scored a hat trick against the New Haven Ramblers.
February 25, 1939 - Don Deacon set a team record for fastest consecutive goals by one player when he scored twice in 1:23 agaisnt the Syracuse Stars.
March 11, 1939 - Connie Brown had five assists against the New Haven Ramblers.
