• Montreal hands the Penguins a 12-0 loss on February 22 to set the franchise mark for the greatest margin of defeat.

• Penguins reel off a seven-goal unbeaten streak (5-0-2) from March 13 through March 27.

• George Ferguson scores in overtime to eliminate Buffalo in the preliminary round of the playoffs, 2-1.
