SEASON HIGHLIGHTS
• Gene Ubriaco is named 11th Penguins head coach on June 28.

• Mario Lemieux sets a club record with five goals vs. New Jersey on December 31, scoring at even strength, on the power play, short-handed, on a penalty shot and into an empty net.

• For the first time in Penguins' history, three players (Lemieux 199, Rob Brown 115, and Paul Coffey 113) record 100 point seasons.

• Lemieux sets Penguins records for goals (85), assists (114), points (199), power play goals (31), short-handed goals (13) and hat tricks (9).

• Penguins set an NHL record with 119 power play goals.

• Penguins return to the playoffs after a seven year absence, sweeping the NY Rangers before losing to Philadelphia in seven games.

• Lemieux ties two NHL playoff records with five goals and eight points in one playoff game vs. Philadelphia in a 10-7 Penguin win.

• Coffey and Lemieux are named NHL First Team All-Stars.

• Lemieux wins his second consecutive Art Ross Trophy.
