SEASON HIGHLIGHTS
• The first Peguins game was broadcast on local television (WTAE) on October 19, 1968. The Boston Bruins defeated the Pens, 5-1.

• Penguins record first win ever at Montreal on January. 2, 5-2.

• Ken Schinkel selected to Western Division NHL All-Star Team.

• Keith McCreary scores 25 goals to lead the Penguins.

• Ken Schinkel leads the team in scoring with 52 points.

Penguin Pete, on loan from the Pittsburgh Zoo, makes his Civic Arena Debut.

• Pittsburgh finish in 5th place with a record of 20-45-11, becoming the only expansion team to miss the playoffs in its first two seasons.
